Greenwood Pathway House is a compassionate, caring, Christian organization that provides short-term shelter, food, support, and training for homeless men, women, and children.

We offer a safe place to stay for 90 days so you can focus on learning and putting into practice the skills necessary to transition from life on the streets to becoming a productive member of the community.

We Serve Individuals from the Following South Carolina Locations:

  • Greenwood County
  • Abbeville County
  • McCormick County
  • Edgefield County
  • Saluda County
  • Laurens County
  • Newberry County

If you are not in our seven-county service area, please contact another shelter for help. Due to limited bed availability, we are unable to provide shelter for individuals who are not in our service area.

What We Do NOT Provide:

  • We are NOT a recovery program
  • We are NOT a detox facility
  • We are NOT a medical facility
  • We are NOT a mental health facility
  • We do NOT provide childcare
  • We do NOT accept clients that are on methadone. opioids, or any narcotics even with a valid prescription.

We offer a safe place to stay for up to 90 days and the support needed to transition from life on the streets to ongoing self-sufficiency.

Admission Requirements

Admissions are based on bed availability and are assigned on a first come - first served basis. Call the shelter at 864-223-4460 (press 1 for men or 2 for women) to find out if we have a bed available.
 
  • Intake hours for our shelters are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
  • One suitcase and one backpack maximum of personal belongings.
  • All clients are expected to gain employment and suitable housing.
  • We only accept clients with 1st shift jobs.
  • Agree to abide by all guidelines, fully participate in all program activities, and refrain from any inappropriate activity.
  • Be mentally and physically able to exercise proper personal hygiene and self-care, perform task assignments, and participate in all program functions within a non-medical, non-psychiatric facility.
Mother and Children

Admission for Mothers with Children

Mothers with children seeking shelter should go the Shelter for Women and Mothers with Children, located at 206 Panola Avenue. Greenwood. SC.

Intake hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Admissions are based on bed availability and are assigned on a first come - first served basis.

Admission Guidelines for Children:

  • Children must remain in the care of their mother at all times
  • Male children must be 10 years of age or younger
  • Female children must be 17 years of age or younger
  • Mothers with up to 3 children are accepted
  • One suitcase and one backpack of personal belongings per person.

Cold Weather Icon

Cold Weather Shelter

We provide cold weather shelter from November 1st to March 31st when temperatures are forecast to drop below 40 degrees. Cold weather shelter is open from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Transportation is provided from the Greenwood Soup Kitchen at 7:00 pm. Individuals may walk-in to the cold weather shelter at 7:00 pm.

All cold weather guests are required to leave the campus at 7:00 am. Weapons, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited at Greenwood Pathway House
